Gwynn Park HS star guard Darius Joyner carried is team to their first victory of the season with a 20 point performance. After a slow start, Darius heated up from the field knocking down 3 three pointers in the 2nd quarter to give GP a 10 point lead at halftime. Crossland came roaring back with a great third quarter but Darius Joyner put all hopes to bed; leading his team in a dominant 4th quarter outscoring Crossland 20-10 and coasting to a win.

Earl Timberlake, DeMatha’s star player and newest 1,000 point scorer led the Stags to a win over Roosevelt.  He scored what seemed to be a quiet 19 points for his team as they were in control the entire game. Starting off in the 1st with his outside touch, Earl got the Stags started with two threes early to open up their lead.  He went quiet from the field and operated as facilitator, leaning more towards making the extra pass to get his teammates easy buckets. # 11 Jakai Robinson, National Christian Academy (NCA), Junior, Forward

Jakai Robinson scored 25 points and led his team to a hard fought non-conference victory over the Largo Lions.  With National Christian Academy (NCA) leading 22-9 to end the first quarter and maintaining a double digit lead at halftime (35-25), it seemed as if they would cruise to an easy win. Things turned around in the second half when Largo amped up it’s defense and held NVA to (7) seven points in the third quarter and cut their lead to just (3) three points (42-39 heading into the 4th).
